Donovan McNabb Trade Rumors Swirl
03.04
There are many rumors that are linking the St.Louis Rams to Donovan McNabb to the St. Louis Rams. The thinking goes that Steve Spagnuolo, head coach and former Giants D-Coordinator, would prefer a veterean that could play right away over a draft pick.
This would free up the number one pick for a left tackle or defensive tackle to help rebuild the offensive line in St.Louis, which is in shambles.
The rumored offer is the no.33 pick, but Adam Schefter of ESPN denies that any trade conversations between the teams have taken place.
I am of the opinion that where there is smoke there is fire, and with reports saying that Philadelphia’s youn players were going to Kevin Kolb last year for advice, the time might be right for the change. I am also of the opinion that Kevin Kolb is ready to become a very good quarterback in this league.
The other rumored landing spot would be the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are rumored to be done with Derek Anderson, and only interested Brady Quinn as a backup at best. McNabb would be a fit in Cleveland for many reasons:
1) Tom Heckert, the new GM in Cleveland, comes from the Philadelphia front office;
2) The Browns will be implementing a west coast offense similiar to the one run in Philly; and
3) The Browns do not want to spend what it will take to get up and get Sam Bradford…
Either way, tommorrow might be an interesting start to free agency
